DEPLOYMENT - Spearhead
FIRST TURN - Detecting the enemy hivemind, the warriors of Hive Fleet Nemon immediately rush out onto the dusty wastes, boneswords in each hand. Dagon's genestealers take to cover, leaping into the craters that scar the surface of Drouwenermond. The Slaughterer's warrior brood open fire with deathspitters and a barbed strangler on the enemy broods, but fail to inflict any lethal wounds.
SECOND TURN - With the invading hive warriors slowly falling back and spraying fire, the Nemon broods are forced to charge through the uneven rocky terrain. Raveners emerge nearby to the Dagonite tyranid warriors, lashing out at range with spinefists but fail to do more than slight damage. The warriors of Hive Fleet Dagon turn to fire on the trio of raveners, felling one with deathspitter fire and driving the others away.
THIRD TURN - The Nemonic trygon prime emerges between the two armies and a hive guard stomps onto the field to provide covering fire for the advancing warriors. The raveners rejoin the synaptic hivemind and regroup, charging into the opposing warriors, killing one, but being torn to pieces by the tyranid warrior prime's bone swords.
The Dagonite warriors fall back to keep a distance from the enemy, laying down an endless barrage of deathspitter fire, slaying one warrior and severely hurting a second. Hive Fleet Dagon unleashes a trygon prime which looms over the barren hills, firing spines at the enemy warrior brood. The broodlord leads its genestealers into combat against the trygon prime, wounding it but losing four brood mates in the process.

FOURTH TURN - The Nemonic hive guard loses synapse with the hive and slinks off into a crater for cover. The remaining warriors swarm at the genestealers fighting with the trygon prime, encircling them. The tyranid warrior prime kills the broodlord and one genestealer, leaving the trygon to gore apart the last four of them.
The Dagonite warriors cease falling back and begin swift advance, firing the barbed strangler and deathspitters rapidly into the stragglers, dropping another. The trygon prime hurls itself into this scattered Nemonic warrior brood, shredding one of the two. The Dagonite warriors follow close behind, charging down the tyranid warrior prime of the rival swarm but fail to bring it down.
FIFTH TURN - The last warriors of the two Nemonic broods finally bring down the trygon prime with bonesword wounds, though one of them is crushed in the process. The Nemonic trygon prime joins its warrior prime leader in fighting the brood off, but both are tripped by the Slaughterer's lashwhip and the tyranid warrior prime is slain. The trygon prime crushes one tyranid warrior during the bloody melee. The Slaughterer and warriors keep ripping, tearing and slicing at the trygon prime, bringing it low.
SIXTH TURN - The hive guard fails to inflict any harm at range, leaving the last surviving warrior to fearlessly and hopelessly try to tie up the Slaughterer's brood, but is unable to defeat the them and falls, signalling an end to the battle.
VICTORY - Hive Fleet Dagon (6-2 Annihilation Points)

Neat, a rival hive mind! Excellent baterp as always. :) By the way, is Dagon the same hive fleet that the Deathwatch RPG supplements talk about?
ReplyDeleteCheers... It is difficult to write about two near identical Tyranid armies fighting each other without is sounding like total nonsense.
ReplyDeleteAs for Dagon, no, I don't have Deathwatch... We're Black Crusade players. Death to the False Emperor!!
Ahem...
Anyway, no, the player is just a Call of Cthulhu fanatic. It was everything we could do to stop him calling it Hive Fleet Cthulhu.
